Fan Club TV: "Day with a Driver"
The goal was simple: get people who were already fans to join the IndyCar Series fan club, Indy Downforce. So what do you do? What could possibly go wrong if we offered up a day with a driver?
Nothing unless it's wrong for fans to belittle drivers, be put through boot camp, be frozen with fear by bizarre off-track behavior, and lose a game of Jenga merely because they don't have the skill of black magic at their disposal.
Some advertising results are more qualitative than quantitative. And the quality here was that the client was inundated with unsolicited praise from fans and sportswriters alike. Our copywriter swears up and down he never posted this one: "They're magically delicious. Whoever wrote that commercial deserves a bonus."
