Prioritizing Community Near and Far
Fostering a healthy company culture is something we take pride in at Williams Randall. This summer was no different as we gathered to enjoy the warm weather and each other’s company through various social activities. Get a peek into some of our summer fun!
Maintaining Connections Near…
A warm fire. The quintessential taste of chocolate and marshmallowy goodness. Soda sloshing onto grass as laughter echoes. Fireflies casting tiny spells of light every few seconds. These were the sights and sounds of the first-ever Williams Randall Weiner Roast back in July. The team got together at Designer Rachel Knierman’s house to roast hotdogs, make s'mores, and play outdoor games like cornhole and big jenga (and of course, fetch with Rachel’s pup JoJo).
In August, with our families in tow, we sat, chatted, cracked open cans of beer, and took in the final days of summer at an Indians game for our annual Williams Randall Family Night. You could say America’s favorite pastime is one of ours too.
…and Far
We didn’t limit the summer fun to those of us based in Indianapolis either. Though most of our team works out of our Virginia Avenue office downtown, we’re a distributed team with a handful of fully remote employees.
Our virtual activities included a Google Meet happy hour in which we played Wavelength, a cooperative game where you work as a team to place a dial on a spectrum between two opposing concepts, as close to the target area as possible. The team enjoyed getting competitive with colleagues near and far.
Making sure to foster connections so that everyone feels a part of the team no matter their location is important to maintaining a strong culture.
