We are seeking a senior online designer who possesses a passion for contemporary online design and has a drive to do great work in a fast-paced (and friendly) environment. You will be our design lead for landing pages, online display advertising, email, microsites, website redesigns and new websites. You’ll work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary staff on large projects, as well as independently on smaller projects. The right person will be organized, motivated, and have a drive to learn, grow, and find ways to make our work better.

What you will do:

  • Conceptualize and design new online creative, as well as rework and update existing creative
  • Collaborate with project leads, information architects, usability professionals, copywriters, web developers and offline art directors throughout a project life cycle
  • Work with the internal team and clients to incorporate revisions and feedback on projects
  • Maintain existing client online properties (websites, landing pages, email campaigns, and other creative assets) through ongoing content development, design, and production work
  • Actively participate in the quality assurance process so that final products match the approved designs
  • Present work at client meetings
  • Represent the online design discipline within the agency, at client meetings, and in new business settings
  • Provide guidance and training to staff in the area of online design
  • Supervise online work delegated to other staff and freelancers
  • Help manage the Williams Randall website and email program

These skills are required for the position:

  • A good theoretical and practical grasp of interaction design issues
  • Experience designing banner ads, responsive/mobile websites, landing pages, and emails
  • An eye for detail, so that projects are handled with accuracy
  • Advanced skills with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Adobe XD a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (we have staff who work remotely, so this is important)
  • Polished presentation skills

  • You know HTML and CSS inside and out so that you can best see your work come to life
  • You've done theming for Drupal, WordPress, or Umbraco
  • You are comfortable with a CSS preprocessor (LESS or SASS)
  • You get git (or another version control system)
  • You are Javascript savvy
  • You have experience with rich media ads
  • You’ve interviewed users or used research to inform your design
  • You have experience organizing websites or setting strategy for landing pages or emails
  • You have created wireframes
  • You double as an online project manager for the work you do
  • You enjoy designing offline advertising too (print, collateral, outdoor, etc.)
  • Wildcard! A wealth of skills can be brought to the table. Tell us your talents

This role is for a candidate with 3-10 years of experience. The position reports to our Creative Director and Director of Online Services and is based in our downtown Indianapolis location.
