The Web Developer is responsible for the technical implementation of the agency’s digital projects and analytics tracking. The developer works with our engineering team for website redesigns, new websites, landing pages, email, microsites, and other online applications. The developer will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary staff on large projects, as well as independently on smaller projects.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Create site layout/user interface from provided design concepts by using standard HTML/CSS/JS practices
  • Develop .NET-based web applications including those built on the Umbraco CMS framework
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of websites built on the Drupal CMS
  • Write custom code in ASP.NET/C#, PHP, Javascript and other programming languages as needed
  • Design and create relational database schemas for websites; Microsoft SQL Server and MySql development
  • Integrate online applications with other software/databases
  • Conduct routine maintenance of existing sites and applications
  • Work with external agencies/vendors as needed to ensure accurate implementation of tracking, websites, and email
  • Investigate new and emerging technologies and implement them when it makes sense for our clients
  • Develop email templates and manage email accounts and sends on behalf of clients as needed
  • Work with our analytics specialist to plan and implement tracking and measurement strategies for online and offline tactics

Qualifications:

  • This is not an entry-level position; best candidates will likely have 3-5 or more years of programming experience or previous experience with building web properties from the ground up
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Advanced skill level in the ASP.NET/C# platform/language
  • Proficiency in setting up and managing databases on Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
  • Detail-oriented and able to build HTML pages that closely follow a design comp
  • Ability to effectively work independently

Experience with the following is not required, but considered a PLUS:

  • Umbraco
  • PHP
  • Drupal
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Google Analytics tracking implementation
  • Google Tag Manager

Location
Candidates living in the Indianapolis area or willing to relocate will be preferred; however, relocation is not required. Remote work is a possibility for this position.

Job Status
This is a full-time position for a single individual. We will not be considering outsourcing partners for this role. We are unable to accommodate candidates requiring visa or employment sponsorship at this time.
