Our History

Over 40 years ago, Charlie Williams built an ad agency out of the strongest materials he could find: integrity, respect and trust. It’s still standing. Thriving, in fact.

Charlie Williams

Our Founder

Charlie Williams

Some lights burn brighter than the others. Some people can be like that, too. Our agency’s founder Charlie Williams was one. Born in 1948 in Terre Haute, Charlie excelled at, well, a lot. Writing was a particular strength. That, plus a generous helping of charisma, nudged him towards the advertising industry. By age 30, Charlie knew two things: he’d be an ad man for life, and he needed to be at an agency that put as high a value on integrity as he did. And so in 1979, Charlie and his wife Donna founded the agency that would later be known as Williams Randall Advertising. Their announced mission: Give Advertising a Good Name. The tenets to guide this mission were few and simple: prize integrity above all, treat clients and staff with the same level of respect, and don’t be afraid to hire people smarter than yourself. Forty-plus years, numerous accolades and a move to Indianapolis later, the agency still thrives under the guiding principles Charlie Williams laid out in 1979.
