40 Years: A Celebration of CEO Gerry Randall

August 2024 marks Williams Randall CEO Gerry Randall’s 40th year at the agency. Such a huge milestone called for a major celebration. But not just any kind of celebration. A surprise party.

In the familiar heat of early July in Indiana, we secretly gathered at our office at 21 Virginia Avenue to toast Gerry, his leadership and dedication. Family and friends, former employees, and our current team all snuck in to surprise him while Williams Randall President Emiley Matherly distracted him down the street with a staged meeting.

Once he returned to the agency, he was led to the third floor’s Push Pin Lounge where everyone was waiting to yell, “Surprise!”, his grandson Chandler ran up to present him with a card. Over 100 people showed up to honor Gerry on his anniversary, which is evidence of just how impactful his leadership, friendship, and humor have been over the last 40 years. The party was complete with a photo slideshow highlighting various moments of Gerry’s four-decade career, dad joke-adorned napkins, and, of course, drinks, dinner, and desserts for all.

Gerry first arrived at the agency in 1984 and worked as a copywriter and media buyer. His dedication, kindness, and Kiwi accent quickly charmed the team and he decided to keep growing his career at what was the Williams Company. Gerry and his wife Becky eventually joined Charlie and Donna Williams as co-owners and has been a partner since 1994.

Over his tenure at Williams Randall, Gerry has led the agency through so many changes and successful campaigns. Please join us in congratulating our CEO Gerry Randall on the last 40 years of giving advertising a good name.
