Honoring Late Colleague Gail Hayes at Our Office

For 33 years, Gail Hayes was a colleague and friend here at Williams Randall Advertising. We recently commemorated her legacy  (and love of good coffee and grammar) with the creation of the Gail Hayes Coffee Station.

If you ever visited Gail at work, you know the many coffee sleeves pinned to her office walls were a testament to her love of local coffee shops. As Gail’s co-workers, we anticipated the humorous Express for Success segments she created and shared in monthly company meetings.

As a tribute to these bits of Gail legend, the station features a life-sized coffee sleeve embossed with a quote that captures Gail’s life philosophy: “I’m a person who seeks joy. And actually, I never have to look far.” Two coffee machines are separated by mugs with grammar puns printed on them.

On February 26, Gail’s birthday, we dedicated the new coffee station and held a breakfast in her honor. We were excited to be joined, both virtually and in-person, by Gail's family. We shared memories, reflecting on Gail’s deep impact on the agency and the ways she brought joy into the office.

Gail first joined the agency in 1988 and worked as an Associate Creative Director and Writer, creating great narratives for our clients until she retired in 2021. After a three-year battle with glioblastoma, Gail passed away on January 24, 2023 surrounded by her family.
