The creative team at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari was smart when they named the nation’s first launched wing coaster “Thunderbird,” the mythical bird known by indigenous North Americans to have the power and strength to bring thunder. The ride, which propels its riders from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, is thunderous, indeed, as it zips through trees and dodges a barn (barely) and results in thunderous applause (or, at least, thunderous squeals of delight).
The ride, therefore, was ready to launch. Enter Williams Randall, charged with launching a campaign that would cause thunderous results in ticket sales.
