Williams Randall Tapped to Revamp College Website

Lake Michigan College, a two-year, accredited, non-profit community college in southwest Michigan, has awarded Indianapolis advertising agency Williams Randall the job of redesigning its website.

The 75-year-old school has an enrollment of nearly 4,000 – mostly southwestern Michigan residents – and three campuses (Benton Harbor, Niles, and South Haven). They offer over 75 different academic programs, from accounting to welding and everything in between. Their curriculum comprises career education programs, transfer options, short-term certificates, and two-year degree programs, enabling individuals to choose the educational path that best suits their aspirations.

The school had outgrown its old website, so they invited the Williams Randall team to pitch for how we’d go about giving it a facelift, with specific attention to modernizing its look, making navigation more intuitive, sharpening its focus on converting prospective students into actual students, and streamlining site maintenance procedures for increased efficiency.

How does a community college in southwest Michigan know to approach an ad agency 185 miles to their south? Well, as it turned out, their executive director of marketing and communications previously held a similar position at a multi-campus community college in Indiana that’s been a happy Williams Randall client for going on two years now. It’s great to have a potential client that’s interested in seeing how we think and work, but it’s even better when they’ve already seen it in person, and were impressed enough to bring it to their new employer’s attention!

Williams Randall is delighted to be working with Lake Michigan College. We welcome this opportunity to create value and increase market share for a new client through our Left-Brain Creativity. Plus, we're excited to add to our growing portfolio of work in the higher education industry, connecting students with life-changing programs.
