INDIANAPOLIS—Folks staying at the Ronald McDonald House in downtown Indianapolis while their child is a patient at the neighboring Riley Hospital for Children have a full kitchen available for their use at their home away from home. Even so, it’s nice to have someone else prepare and serve a hot meal from time to time. And it’s a nice break from eating in the hospital cafeteria, as well. On November 13, a group of Williams Randall staffers took command of the kitchen to prepare a meal of comfort food including tater tot casserole, green beans and chocolate chip cookies.
As a bonus, our fellow employee, Haley Hodgen—herself a recipient of a multivisceral transplant a few years ago—was able to meet a little girl who had just received donated organs of her own. Heartwarming puts it mildly.
The families ended with full bellies. We ended with full hearts.
